Product Details
Speaker wire, also known as audio cable, is mainly used for connecting amplifiers to main speakers and surround speakers in home theaters. It connects the amplifier to the speakers. Speaker wire directly transmits power signals, and because of the high current, the copper core of the wire is usually thicker. To ensure high-frequency transmission and reduce resistance loss, most are made of silver-plated, gold-plated, or oxygen-free copper wire. Speaker wire primarily transmits power signals, so it requires excellent conductivity and high-quality transmission capabilities. Currently, oxygen-free copper speaker wire, commonly referred to as gold-silver wire, is quite mainstream and has lower resistance. Audio gold-silver wire typically does not have a shielding layer because the current signal flowing through it is greater than that of audio and video cables, resulting in a large signal amplitude. The most important aspect is to reduce the resistance of the wire, as the impedance when the amplifier outputs is very low.
